It's not black and white. 2024 Elections.

It is not about who is right and who is wrong

It is not about the left or the right the blue or the red the democrats or the republicans

It is not about one who supports immigrant rights

And who supports the war

It is not about who speaks louder and who debates better

It is about our belief in the rights we desire for humanity

It is about the right for our own freedom

And those that we love

The children, the people of all cultures and countries

The rights for women, blacks, LGBTQIA+ Mexicans, Ukrainians, Palestinians, Israelis

The rights of people without money

And the right to live their lives as people with money

It is not about hating one part and loving the other

We cast a vote to a flawed system

That proposes a national leader that is simply a reflection

Of the flawed state of being we have gotten ourselves into

Who are we to judge

The state of the world, this man’s a crook

This man stands for money

She stands for what..

I am ignorant I will say

As I back out of these debates and media brainwashing

I ask who are you in your life?

Who are you in that which you strive for?

Why do the Trumpers vote for this man?

How can we understand the fear and the hopes and dreams that drive them?

It is not about othering those that voted the other side

We had two proposals neither were great, choosing between bad and bad

Hopes put behind a puppet that symbolizes our values

We cannot hate 60% of the population for voting for what they might have seen as hope

The question is what do we stand for and how do we bring that into our daily lives?

We are on social media all day, permeating our brains with nonsense

Anything and everything and the algorithm just reinforces what we choose to believe

What are we actually doing with our lives?

To improve happiness

To improve humanity

Community

Relationship to nature

Serving each other

We now spend 60% of our time on screens

Where is the connection?

Divide and conquer, this is where we’re at.

You want to have a word to say, a voice, hope

Get out and meet your neighbor

Enjoy the life you still have around you

Create goodness

Talk to each other

For god’s sake. We are humans with common needs and values

Can you not see that behind the facade of difference we all care about the same things

Safety, security, love, family, community, financial ease, freedom

Stop othering.

We will deal with what this president has to offer

And when rights are taken away

We must gather to stand up for that which is sacred to us.

By living, we stand up. By loving we stand up. By connecting we stand up.

The grief is there, if you voted for Kamala, I hear you.

I recognize the fear of losing the right to be human, the loss of nature and all that our fears project on the possible future.

We cling to hope in the hands of a head leader

But I ask what are we doing to change our lives and to heal around us?

We cannot win the war of othering and separation through hating those that think differently

We must learn to be curious, to understand what matters to each other.

Fundamentally we will recognize there is a union there is a connection

We are all looking to meet our needs and that comes with a different face of a strategy.

For all those of you who feel the pain of this loss, I hold your hearts as dear and your fears as real.

I invite you to let the grief move through, it is the only way to survive.

All that we desire is not always at our fingertips and letting go at times of that which we cannot control is the only way.

As we hold each other in collective grief over that which we care for and love maybe being lost.
